5.10.21 Motivational Monday

Happy Monday! Deuteronomy 26 really spoke to me this morning. This chapter in the bible talks about first fruits and tithes. Before you click off, this isn't a message to chastize you or make you feel bad if you haven't been tithing financial resources. Everybody's situation is different and that's between you and the Lord, lol! This is a reminder for you (and me) that intention and effort is key when honoring God in this manner. While this chapter talks about inheriting land from our Father and sowing the firstfruits that you produce on that land, I want us to ponder about any and everything else in our lives that God has given us that we can tithe. The word talks about tithing a tenth of what you have and I know we know this principle all too well as we typically tithe 10% of our income. But what else can you give God a tenth of? If it's 24 hours in a day, can you give God 2 hours and 40 minutes of reading, praying and/or worshipping? Can you tithe the gifts He placed on the inside of you? Can you tithe by sacrificing something or someone that you idolize or prioritize? The purpose of this message today was to get you thinking enough to answer this question: "What else can I do to honor and please God?" If you don't know, take some time to partner with God and seek counsel from Him. Matthew 7:7-8 made it plain and clear: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." God is many things to us and for sure, He can be a counselor if you allow him to. As I reminder, there will not be a prayer line this month due to graduation festivities. Have a great week yall!
