9.27.21 Motivational Monday

Happy Monday! Today we're talking about FORGIVENESS! Whew, this is a touchy one! When I read Luke 23:34, it had to sit on me. Jesus said: "Father, forgive them, for they don't know what they're doing." We all know that the bible instructs us to forgive others, just like we want God to forgive us but it's easier said than done. We're in a generation where it's easy to feel like: "Why am I explaining something to another grown person when they know what they're doing? Why am I forgiving them when they haven't apologized?" Aside from a biblical perspective, I want you to think about this in the natural and ask yourself this question: "Why am I going to allow those who have hurt me, to keep hurting me?" We forgive, because forgiveness is apart of healing and we deserve that! Holding on to hurt, betrayal, disappointment, heartbreak, rejection and whatever else-- doesn't catapult you into greatness, it holds you back. Some of the things I mentioned may cause unforgiveness to stir in you, but it doesn't have to settle in you. Peep, pray and stay out the way. You don't have to ever engage with the person/people who have "wronged" you if you don't see value you in it, but you do have to forgive, give it to God and KEEP GOING. Some people don't know what they're doing and in that, we give them forgiveness and grace. For those who know what they are doing and do it anyway--let's be like Jesus and trust that vengeance is the Lord's! In the midst of those people crucifying Jesus, He remembered that the battle was not His to fight. He let those people do what they wanted to do, so that He could see what they would rather do all while trusting God and knowing that IT'S WELL! Your destiny is on the other side of you forgiving. That NEW THING is on the other side of you forgiving. Your peace is on the other side of you forgiving. The joy, the new doors, the fresh wind and everything else that your heart desires is on the other side of your forgiveness. Don't let your inability to forgive cause you to miss out on fulfilling the assignment. Have a blessed week boo! I'll see you on 10/14 for the prayer line!
